Classic dog collar featuring side release buckle, adjustable to fit a range of sizes and a D ring for leash and tags.

Why two patterns? One for the larger sizes and one for the smaller sizes? The technique for making the straps is different in each pattern. The straps in the smaller sizes pattern are very lightweight, while the straps in the larger sizes pattern are more traditional weight. While the basic instructions are the same and can be used interchangeably, using the heavier style straps with the very small hardware can be a challenge.

Dog Collar Kit

Using this kit and your favorite fabrics*, you can make your dog two fun, unique collars. This easy project requires only basic sewing skills and equipment (home sewing machine). Kit includes detailed, illustrated instructions and top quality hardware for two collars. Basic leash instructions included. Refills available for this kit. Refill Hardware

*Collar strap is made from cotton fabric and heavy weight interfacing. No nylon webbing needed.

Each Kit includes:

*Instructions for all size collars. (except mini from kit shown below) All hardware styles use same instructions.

*2 sets hardware in your choice of size and style.

*Basic Leash Instructions.

Webbing Conversion Chart-This chart is meant to be used in combination with the instructions in Creative Designworks Collar Kits. The kits do not have specific instructions for using webbing. Use the measurements in the chart to substitute nylon webbing for the handmade cotton webbing. Then follow the instructions to construct your item.

Extra Small: fits 7-11" necks using 5/8" hardware
Small: fits 10-15" necks, choose 5/8" or 3/4" hardware
Medium: fits 12 to 19" necks, choose 3/4" or 1" hardware
Large: fits 15-24" necks using 1" hardware
Extra Large: fits 17-29" necks using 1" hardware

1.5 & 2" refill sets are available for the classic collars. Refill Hardware

This 1/2" wide collar especially for mini dogs is soft and lightweight. Instructions for 3 sizes included to fit a range of necks 5 1/2 to 13 inches.

Using this kit and your favorite fabrics*, you can make your dog 3 fun, unique collars. This easy project requires only basic sewing skills and equipment (home sewing machine). Kit includes detailed, illustrated instructions and top quality hardware for three collars. Collars are fully adjustable to fit a range of sizes. Basic leash instructions included.

Buckle is non-breakaway.

Approximate measurement of side release buckle, slide buckle and D rings are 3/8". All items easily accommodate soft 1/2" webbing as described in Creative Designworks kits.

Remember, collar safety is YOUR responsibility. Pets should never be left unattended in a collar that tightens. Only you can determine the suitability of these collars for your pet.
